Kickstarting 2018 Creativity

For various reasons I’ve not been at my most creatively productive over the past few months. But it hasn’t been a complete washout.

Over the last week or so, I’ve been carding some gorgeous Landscape Batts in preparation for a new product that I’m really rather excited about launching hopefully by late Spring. Back in January I co-hosted a Fleece Sorting and Preparation day and collectively we skirted somewhere in the region of 50 fleeces. Not bad going for a bunch of folk with varied experience in a cold and drafty barn!

I’ve been experimenting with spinning on the fabulous Majacraft Aura that my dear friend Emma left me in her Will. Much as I love my Ashford Traditional, the Aura is another beast entirely! And of course my knitting has never been far from my fingers.

Now that the days are getting noticably longer and I’ve spotted plenty of snowdrops and even some daffodils, I feel like my creative mojo is waking from it’s winter slumbers.

I’ve been planning my entry to the 2018 Bath and West Show Art Exhibition – I think a large Hare sculpture is most likely. Or possibly a bust of a sheep. Or maybe a giant Love Ewe?! Entries close on 9th April so I’d better get on with it.

I’m also intending to run a few workshops and courses this year too so I need to finalise the details for those too. Please do sign up to my Mailing List to be amongst the first to hear them!

And finally I’ve also got some new card designs printed and they are now available to buy in my Etsy shop:

All in all I think 2018 is shaping up to be a busy year!
