Edmund the Hare

Sculpture

The Hare is a strange and fascinating part of folklore and mythology and is inextricably linked to the moon, a symbol of fertility and life. This unique hare, Edmund, is charming and full of character.

Edmund is made entirely from un-spun wool, which has been sculpted into shape with nothing more than a barbed needle to agitate the wool and bind the fibres together. This piece has no armature, stitching or glue.  It is a completely free standing work of art.

Needle-felting is a lengthy painstaking process and a great many hours of work have gone into bringing young Edmund the Hare to life.
